Discoverability
Discoverability is how reliably AI systems can find, understand, and include your brand and pages when generating answers to relevant prompts.
Why Discoverability Matters
- You can have great content and still be invisible if AI systems:
- Can't access your key pages
- Can't confidently classify what you are
- Don't see enough trusted context about you across the web
- Discoverability is the foundation. If it's broken, all the "optimization" in the world won't matter.
Key Factors
- Your "what we do" is unclear or inconsistent across pages
- You're missing the pages AI needs for high-intent prompts (best, vs, alternatives, pricing)
- Your brand is confused with another entity (similar name)
- Influential sources in your category don't mention you at all
Action Steps
- Create a canonical positioning page: what you are, who it's for, why you win, proof
- Build a content cluster around your category (glossary + comparisons + alternatives)
- Earn mentions on source-heavy sites in your niche (directories, lists, reviews)
- Track prompt coverage and fill gaps
